Innovation Insight: The Innovation Audit

Respected leadership and management consultant, Professor Vlatka Hlupic, has developed a new leadership model that is designed to help managers improve engagement, encourage innovation and uncover the hidden strengths of their workforce.

Following her presentation, discussions were opened to the floor. Below are some of the points members agreed upon:

  • To truly innovate and deliver superior value, companies must replace mechanistic management models with open, collaborative business cultures
  • This requires a critical shift in management thinking and behaviours – away from a focus purely on financial measures and away from hierarchical structures
  • To reach new levels of innovation and performance, it may be necessary to bring in people from the outside to break stubborn organisational norms and behaviours – people who think and operate differently

Participants included RBS, Lloyds Banking Group and Jaguar Land Rover.

The group will next meet in May. Here, Professor Eddie Obeng will provide an insight into delivering results and innovation through virtual teams. If you are interested in joining the Management Innovation Programme, please contact a member of the KnowledgeBrief team.
