E-Commerce Definition

Some authors propose a broad definition, such as Rayport and Jaworski (2003), who define E-Commerce as technology-mediated exchange between parties as well as the electronically based intra- or inter-organisational activities that facilitate such exchange. Others (Jelassi & Enders, 2005; Timmers, 2005) define E-Commerce as a sub-category of E-Business; as the use of electronic methods to sell products, conduct transactions, and provide after sales services – for example via the internet or any other telecommunications network.
