Product Life Cycle Definition

Products are born and products die; all products and services have life cycles. The Product Life Cycle (PLC) is a generalised model of the sales trend for a product class or category over a period of time, and of related changes in competitive behaviour (Buzzel, 1966). The typical PLC has four stages: Introduction, Growth, Maturity and Decline.
