Transformational Change Definition

According to Kindler (1976: 477) transformational change involves ‘reconceptualisation and discontinuity from the initial system’. Transformational change is radical rather than incremental. The implementation of transformational strategy often requires a departure from tradition and involves risk. Haveman (1992: 48) suggests that "organisational change may benefit organisational performance and survival chances if it occurs in response to dramatic restructuring of environmental conditions and if it builds on established routines and competences."
