AVIS Budget Group Case Study

"In every aspect of our relationship with KnowledgeBrief, from sales to accounts and the Professional Learning Advisors, we encounter passionate and engaged people."

What was the driver behind starting the Avis Leadership and Management Accelerator Academy?

We were already running a Level 2 Customer Service programme in the business through the Apprenticeship Levy, but there was a real thirst and need for a formal leadership and management programme outside of our own internal training process.

We knew we wanted to provide our employees with a structured qualification and the KnowledgeBrief Level 3 and 5 management apprenticeship programmes sparked immediate interest from us and our employees.

Because the programmes are Levy funded, this means anyone in the business can apply, so we were expecting strong interest from our employees when we advertised the programme.

We were however, overjoyed when an amazing 90 people expressed their interest in the first cohort.

This exceeded our expectations and we were delighted with this high level of engagement; it validated the need and appetite for the programme and that we were doing the right thing.

In every aspect of our relationship with KnowledgeBrief, from sales to accounts and the Professional Learning Advisors, we encounter passionate and engaged people.

Why did you choose KnowledgeBrief as your Leadership and Management Training partner?

We first engaged with KnowledgeBrief as our Level 3 and 5 Leadership and Management training provider after joining their cross-industry Innovation Day programme.

The Innovation Days gave us the opportunity to meet people from across the business before we took the decision to use them as our training provider. Being able to see the KnowledgeBrief approach, the quality of their content and people, made it an easy decision.

Supplier relationships are important to any business and are no different at Avis Budget Group.

In every aspect of our relationship with KnowledgeBrief, from sales to accounts and the Professional Learning Advisors, we encounter passionate and engaged people.

For example, our Account Managers and Professional Learning Advisors regularly check-in with us, listen to feedback and always follow-up on actions. If there are ever any challenges or issues, these are quickly resolved without any fuss; the administration is great.

This means it doesn’t feel like a traditional supplier – customer relationship, it feels like a partnership.

KnowledgeBrief are simply easy to do business with.

Because KnowledgeBrief have helped us to creatively build the programmes around our working day and existing priorities, we haven’t experienced any disruption to the business.

How has the programme met the key Avis Budget Group objectives to help all learners bring their ‘A’ game, and to create inspirational leaders and talented employees?

The monthly impact reports from KnowledgeBrief and our own internal engagement and performance metrics tell us we’re well on the way to achieving them.

You can already see the difference the programmes are having, with some of the biggest impacts in areas like Revenue Management and Marketing.

The programmes success, both from the impact it’s having on the business and how engaged our employees are with the programme, is best demonstrated by the fact we are about to start our 7th Cohort of learners.

This is testament to the quality of our employees and the KnowledgeBrief approach.

Has the ‘20% off the job’ requirement for Levy learners been disruptive to Avis Budget Group?

Because KnowledgeBrief have helped us to creatively build the programmes around our working day and existing priorities, we haven’t experienced any disruption to the business.

The tailored, blended approach which is delivered through a combination of the online KBPRO digital platform, work-based live learning e.g. presentations given at work contributing to a learner’s study units, the tailored training days and the one-to-one access to a dedicated Professional Learning Advisor, has allowed us to work and learn flexibly to suit priorities.

It’s also encouraged a high level of positivity and buy-in from line managers and senior leaders and has meant we’ve experienced no pushback at all.

If you were to recommend KnowledgeBrief, what would you say?

Working with KnowledgeBrief is a collaborative partnership. The nature of our relationship feels like we are on a journey together to create and continually improve our own bespoke leadership and management programme.

They are incredibly easy to work with and focus entirely on what’s required for success in your organisation and for your employees.

We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending KnowledgeBrief to any business looking for learning that delivers real impact.
