Course Overview

Fully levy-funded £250 for non-levy payers

This apprenticeship provides learners with the tools to build trust-based relationships, facilitate meaningful reflection, and apply coaching models to support performance and development. It fosters essential coaching behaviours such as active listening, ethical decision-making, and non-directive questioning; enabling learners to support meaningful growth in others. Research from the International Coaching Federation and the Human Capital Institute shows that 72% of organisations with strong coaching cultures report higher employee engagement, underscoring the positive workplace impact of professional coaching (International Coaching Federation & Human Capital Institute, 2023).

  • Combines on-the-job learning with structured off-the-job training.

  • Provides personalised one-to-one support throughout the programme.

You need:

  • To have the right to work in the UK.
  • To have lived in the UK continuously for the past 3 years.
  • To have not previously studied the course content.
  • To not undertake any other qualification during your apprenticeship.
  • To be able to apply your learning to your role.

  • If your organisation pays the Apprenticeship Levy, the full cost can be covered through your levy funds, making it a straightforward way to invest in coaching capability.
  • If you are a non-levy payer and want to strengthen leadership and management across your organisation, the Government will fund 95% of the programme. Your organisation simply co-invests the remaining 5%; £250 in total.

You can start your apprenticeship with us at any time that suits you and your employer:

  • We offer monthly start dates throughout the year to provide flexibility.
  • Your start date will be agreed in partnership with your employer.
  • Onboarding begins once eligibility and funding checks are complete.
  • You will receive a structured induction before formal learning begins.
  • We work with you to ensure a smooth and timely start.

Once the programme is complete, you will be assessed through the End Point Assessment (EPA) by an independent, accredited organisation.

Observation with Questions and Answers

  • Learners will be observed carrying out two, one-hour-long coaching sessions with different individuals receiving the coaching, followed by a 20-minute question and answer session.

Professional Discussion Supported by a Portfolio of Evidence

  • The professional discussion is structured as a two-way conversation between the learner and assessor.
  • Learners will be asked a series of competency-based questions designed to determine their level of understanding of the syllabus.

Knowledge Test

  • The knowledge test will cover all subjects delivered during the course and will be conducted as a multiple-choice test under invigilation to ensure compliance.
