To what extent do leaders actively recognise the privilege they hold in shaping others’ experiences at work, and how might outcomes change if this influence was exercised more intentionally and consistently?

Honestly, most leaders are stuck on the hamster wheel in “doing mode” that they forget their mood is the thermostat for the whole office. If you’re running on fumes, you’re accidentally giving your team permission to burn out too. If we took the privilege of leadership seriously and proactively, leading with the truth of our reality instead of just reacting, then we’d operate so much more efficiently, better informed and would inspire others along the way.

How can leaders more deliberately use their daily interactions, decisions and behaviours to create environments that drive growth, engagement and long-term impact for individuals and teams?

It comes down to being consciously aware in small moments consistently. Using the InCREDIble Leader™ framework as a daily decision-making filter helps leaders focus on being Committed, Ruthless, Efficient, Disciplined and Inspirational.

In this context, Ruthless means being intentional about removing distractions, protecting priorities and cutting out the noise that gets in the way of people and performance. Being Ruthless with distractions and Disciplined with your energy means you actually have the space to be Inspirational. When you’re “Respectfully Assertive” about what excellence looks like and lead by example, you create a safe, high-stakes environment where people don’t just show up, they level up too. The beauty of this is that it happens both at home and at work.

How can leaders sustain their ability to lead others effectively by prioritising their own wellbeing, resilience and self-awareness, ensuring they can persevere and continue to show up at their best?

You have to lose the “martyr complex” and realise that putting your oxygen mask on first isn’t selfish, it’s part of your duty and privilege as a Leader… especially if your goal is to be a sustainable one. If you aren’t ruthlessly protecting your own wellbeing and resilience, or if you aren’t committed to understand what your needs are, you aren’t leading and you aren’t inspiring; you’re just a bottleneck waiting to happen. You can’t lead others if you’re running on fumes. Start by being more self-aware with small manageable steps - make your cuppa first, before anyone else’s, (maybe even after reading this article)... it’s a nice subconscious reminder that you matter first. Period.

Applying AI in the Workplace: Tools, Decision-Making, Human Judgement and Decision Support

AI is often presented as a fast route to better decisions, smarter work and efficiency. The evidence is more cautious. Organisations may invest heavily but still report limited business gains, partly because implementation needs more than technology alone (Reim et al., 2020). AI can support knowledge management by speeding up information collection and interpretation, but it struggles with tacit knowledge and can amplify problems in decision-making rather than reduce them (Trunk et al., 2020). This means responsibility does not disappear when AI is introduced. It shifts. Leaders and teams need transparency about how outputs are produced, literacy to choose appropriate applications, and training to interpret results responsibly. Cultural alignment also matters, because AI changes work practices and can trigger resistance and ethical concerns.

The importance of theory in coaching: A lifelong journey, not just a skill

This question is understandable. Coaching is not just about acquiring a set of tools, it’s about developing a way of thinking, being, and relating to others. While practical application is essential, understanding the theoretical foundations of coaching is what sets truly transformational coaches apart.
